Shoulder injuries are very common among athletes that perform overhead repetitive motions with high velocity and extreme range of motion. They are commonly seen in sports such as baseball, swimming, or volleyball. But you do not need be an overhead athlete to experience these types of injuries. High volume of press exercises, like push-ups, burpees, or bench press can also cause impingement of the shoulder joint, potentially leading to rotator cuff tears.
